Yesterday you were normal and today you're like the Chinese guy from The Karate Kid.

Happy [Almost] New Year!

Here is today's horoscope:
Far-off friends could be the element that will make this a night to remember -- even if it's just because of an unexpected phone call. In the meantime, though, take a look around at all those nearby, and resolve to make it a great year for you all.

What can I say? I'm a pimp.

Internet fun for the entire family! I typed in my name and it was hilarious. (If you know my name, go ahead and use it to get a whole new perspecitive on my life!)

i love me some gangsta caucasians

Big love to Mo, from whom I shamelessly swipped this link.

Update 12/31/05: I've just watched this clip three times in a row. It's crazy delicious!

Brace Yourself

My next post will somehow incorporate the word "stymied."

I don't know what to say on a bright Hawaiian New Year's Day

On my very short list of new year's resolutions is the promise to actually post to my blog. And look at me - I'm three days early!

I have absolutely no plans for New Year's. I realize that I've finally gotten old because I don't expect fun from New Year's any longer. For many, many years I looked forward to the holiday with a GREAT DEAL of anticipation. This year I'm keeping expectations low with a DVD, pizza and maybe a bottle of wine if I'm feeling crazy.

In more dating misadventures: I had a date last Friday, which was the 23rd. He was polite, interesting, overall a good guy. So I was just chatting online with him and noticed his blog address on his chat profile. The conversation was moving slowly, so I clicked the link. His post on Dec 27th said something like, "had a nice date last night." So I, of course, assumed he was talking about me and was flattered. Hmmm, my date was on the 23rd. I'm NOT the nice date. Dang. So much for flattery.

Mele Kalikimaka!

So, tell me, who would be the female equivalent of Charlie Brown? Despite scoring a Schroder on the "Which Peanuts Character Are You?" quiz, I have many a day feeling very Charlie Brown.

I'm still... still... in the midst of final exams. I have another paper to do and an exam. I really kind of just don't care anymore. [Well, of course I care. Sorta.] By Friday it will be all over... Friday is coming, yes it is.

I haven't decorated for Christmas yet. I did change the background on my computer though. You just can't go wrong with Chuck's Christmas Tree.

I have some rather disturbing questions to pose to the atmosphere, but I'll have to ask them when I'm done procrastinating. [But I gotta know: is it true that the Pope is a former Nazi youth?! I heard that today.]

Wouldn't you like to be a slacker too?

Whew, it's been almost a month since I last posted. I'm not surprised though. November didn't turn out to be quite the vacation that I had hoped for. Final exams are this week. I have four final papers, a quiz, a final exam and a presentation to do by Tuesday. I haven't quite started any of it yet. But I did mop my kitchen floor and watch six episodes of Third Watch yesterday. I'm pacing myself.

I started my new internship at the USO in mid-November. I'm loving it. I'll get a lot of good experience in program management, fundraising and volunteer recruitment. All good skills that will hopefully one day keep me out of debtor's prison.

Oh! I just remembered why I stopped writing in my blog. I had a visitor that visited MANY times a day and it was creeping me out. Now don't get me wrong, I love my visitors, but 15 visits a day for many days in a row is, um, not so good. Obsessing the Squirrel that much is not good for the psyche.

If you haven't contributed to the Teri's-poor-but-she-thinks-she's-going-to-Nicaragua fund lately, please do so here. The fine folks of Nicaragua thank you for supporting the chubby white girl with no construction skills.
